This workshop will provide you with sure fire strategies that are guaranteed to produce the best writing your students have ever done.

You will gain the skills to enhance the basics engagingly: punctuation, grammar and complex sentences.

You will be provided with a multitude of tried in the classroom strategies and models that engage, enhance creativity and produce meaningful writing.

You will develop the expertise to teach journalistic skills and the creativity of non-fiction writing.

You will be provided with links to real world writing audiences and a swag of resources.

You will gain skills to teach persuasive writing effectively through brain facts, the prerequisites for persuasion and knowing the most effective persuasive structure

You will be introduced to a plethora of approaches to inspire poetic writing.

About the Presenter:

Ron Thomas has 25 years experience in secondary schools teaching: English, Literature and Drama. He is a graduate of the Diploma in Non Fiction Writing and Editing. He is a published author of Travel and Feature Articles in: ‘Sunday Age’, ‘Adelaide Advertiser’, ’Senior Travel’ and ‘Travelling Tales’ magazine. He has poetry published in several magazines and has been commended in the National Poetry Writing Competition. As a Gold Level Toastmaster he has written dozens of speeches across all genres specialising in humorous speeches. Ron has taught writing skills to remedial through to gifted students and from year 5 to year 12. He has initiated a Global Novel between Australian, US and Russian students that won him the iEARN Australia Scholarship to the International Conference in Taiwan. Ron is an experienced facilitator with a highly interactive methodology and lively activities. You won’t be bored.
