From 2019, Viewing will be one of the five macro skills in the new VCE Languages courses. This workshop will focus on ways for teachers to incorporate this essential skill, not only into their Year 11 and 12 courses, but also into their Year 7-10 programs. Participants will explore:

  • What to view
  • Where to find material
  • Ways to develop viewing activities
  • Ways to redesign assessment tasks to incorporate a Viewing element

During the workshop, time will be devoted to developing new teaching materials and redesigning existing materials to include a Viewing element. This is a hands-on workshop and participants will come away with a host of new ideas for activities. They will need to bring a laptop and an overview of a program of work they currently teach. Although the examples given in this workshop will come from French, the ideas presented are general in nature and can be applied in most Language classrooms, so teachers of all languages are encouraged to attend.
