What do you see when you are setting educational supports for a child with special needs? The disability, the learning issues? What about the higher than average presentation of Anxiety Disorders?
Understanding Dual Disability, where consideration is given to the “special need requirements” of a learner and the higher than norm correlation to mental illness, in particular anxiety disorders, is essential, in supporting children’s education pathways holistically.
This session will:
Framework the existing barriers presented through “Special needs”.
Boost your understanding of mental illnesses- anxiety disorders, in confidently recognising common signs and symptoms of the illnesses.
Explore Person Centred Recovery principles that can be enhanced for learning outcomes.
Creatively explore and develop “recovery” techniques to match limited or restricted communication issues .
