Developing techniques to help students master the necessary writing skills in French while effectively assessing their work...if this sounds like what you and your students might benefit from, then come along to this workshop during which you will be given ideas to immediately take back into the classroom! Explore the do’s and don’ts to develop your students’ writing skills and your approach to marking their work. Ideas, activities, strategies and tips, will be demonstrated, discussed and workshopped.
Teachers will gain a clear understanding of how to:
• Develop writing skills
• Identify the various kinds of writing and text types and linguistic features
• Effectively prepare students for the written exam
• Create and organise word bank and written models
• Assess and measure the work against the written criteria
• Ensure relevance, breadth and depth of content

About the Presenter
Maud Fugier-Sola has completed a Master’s Degree in France (French as a Foreign Language/English Language & Literature/Linguistics/ Translation/Civilisation) and a Diploma of Education, Australian Catholic University, Melbourne (LOTE, EAL).
Maud has taught in France (Baccalaureate), England (A&As Levels) and Australia (IB and VCE). Since 2006 she has held leadership positions including Head of French at an independent Victorian school. Maud has experience as a VCAA French examiner for the oral and written components and regularly runs professional development sessions for her colleagues. Maud has a passion for languages and has a particular interest in techniques for teaching French as a second language. She has been a consultant for several educational books for French studies and has recorded a number of resources in French for aural practices. Maud is a published author and co-wrote A+ French exam VCE Units 3&4.
